Generally you want the same stepping/batch.  All that information is
in the serial number on the side of the retail box, or on the CPU
itself for the OEM CPU's

I thought you had to be careful, to get the same "stepping level"
CPU, when doing multi-CPU setups. I doubt some of those vendors would
have that data on the CPUs they sell.
