[PLUG] Setting up a LinkSys Wireless NIC

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1

I bought a LinkSys Wireless NIC (WPC 11 v3), and a LinkSys Wireless Access
Point. I set the Ap to a static address, and no WEP (I can just see the
feathers rustling now :-); I'll change that after I get the NIC working).

This card uses the PRISM driver, so I downloaded the drivers from
ftp://ftp.linux-wlan.org/pub/linux-wlan-ng/, and compiled them. On a reboot
(wth the new NIC loaded, as well as the old NIC), I get these devices:

root@inspiron-3k:/usr/local/src# ifconfig -a
eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:50:DA:DA:EA:2E
          inet addr:192.168.100.51 Bcast:192.168.100.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
          RX packets:650 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:489 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:2 txqueuelen:100
          RX bytes:748249 (730.7 KiB) TX bytes:41287 (40.3 KiB)
          Interrupt:11 Base address:0x400

lo Link encap:Local Loopback
          inet addr:127.0.0.1 Mask:255.0.0.0
          UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1
          RX packets:8 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:8 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:0
          RX bytes:400 (400.0 b) TX bytes:400 (400.0 b)

wlan0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:06:25:AA:0B:1B
          BROADCAST MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
          RX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
          TX packets:0 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
          collisions:0 txqueuelen:100
          RX bytes:0 (0.0 b) TX bytes:0 (0.0 b)
          Interrupt:3 Base address:0x100

So I presume the driver is loading properly for the new NIC.

but ... where do I go from here? I have a DHCP server running on the wired
part of my LAN, but "pump" doesn't seem to locate an address for "wlan0".
(I tried "pump" and "pump -i wlan0"

Anybody have any experience with this card, and can lead me to the next steps
to get it working?

(OS = Libranet, kernel = 2.4.16)
