Another thing are the fonts.  When this happens...

...the display changes.

My VGA setting looks like this...

kernel /vmlinuz-2.4.7-10 ro root=/dev/hda3 ide-scsi=/dev/hdc ide-scsi=/dev/hdd vga=780

And I changed the font to "lat0-08" as suggested on the Web site that I mentioned.

BTW, 780 == 030C

the same results. Can anyone shed some light on how this number is
