I tried this.  The ink leaked and smudged on the paper, then dried out
in the cartridge.  A friend reported the same thing.

I'll check it out, thanks.  Wonder if there's any difference.


I hooked up my existing HP712C, which was acutally supported by Debian. 
When I say supported, I mean there was an entry for it.  It refused to
do anything in the way of printing though.  Wouldn't do a test page.  I
read that this series was a special case (PPA? I forget)but there were
drivers.  Tried sharing it off the W2k box with the same results.  I'm
thinking driver.


In case anyone else is interested, HP seems to be supported much better
than the rest, including the multifunction machines.
