Another thing that almost bothers me is that M$ requires (It's amazing how they can require something.) new PCs to be sold with the /latest/ release of Windows, whether the end user wants it or not. If I paid the M$ tax when I bought my last PC, why can't I use the OS that came with that PC to run the new PC?

On a different note...M$ stops support for their OSes after five years, I believe. Interestingly, I just read that RedHat stops issuing patches for their /lower end/ distributions *one year* after they're released.
