I set it up this way so that family members could (1) have an easy time remembering and (2) have a universal login that worked on all computers in the network. Obviously this didn't help with the present issue. Also, when I mount my windows ¨home¨ directory c:\windows\profiles\arthur to /mnt/chubby/arthur/, and pass the user and password in the mount command, smbmount still prompts me for a password before mounting (though it gets the user that I passed) This behavior has kept me from putting the windows shares in fstab for fear that a missing password might prevent the Linux machine from booting. - -- - -- _______________________________________ Art Alexion Arthur S.
