FIOS will stay up when power is out. The gotcha is that you need to supply
the power for the electronics at your end. This is done with a Verizon
supplied battery. The battery lasts for about 6 hours. After that you need
to supply power from a generator or other source.

I have no idea what the specs are on the FIOS from the Verizon end during
a power outage. I know there are electronic bays on the street. They are
quite large so I suspect there are batteries in there. Anyone know??

This assumes you have analog, no power required phones, in the home. Part
of the 6 hours is supplying the 48 volts talk and 80 volt ring to the
phones. Again I do not know how they spec the 6 hours. Is it talk time or
stanby time?
