[PLUG] corrupt? permissions

I really don't think they are corrupt because I have seen this before on other
machines in the /mnt tree, but I don't remember what the problem turned out
to be.

I can't mount a windows share. Here is what I get:

art@art-ubuntu:~$ sudo ls -l /mnt
[sudo] password for art:
ls: cannot access /mnt/H: Permission denied
total 0
drwxrwxr-x 1 art art 0 2008-11-07 10:54 CompMDB
d????????? ? ?   ?   ?                ? H
drwxrwxr-x 1 art art 0 2008-11-06 10:15 python-public
drwxrwxr-x 1 art art 0 2008-10-29 09:26 python-utilities
drwxrwxr-x 1 art art 0 2008-11-07 10:57 U

Here is the relevant part of /etc/fstab

//10.10.1.20/user/Art /mnt/H cifs
file_mode=0775,dir_mode=0775,user=art@rhd.org,password=(pwd),uid=1000,gid=1000,auto,rw,user,guest
0 0
//10.10.1.20/user /mnt/U cifs
file_mode=0775,dir_mode=0775,user=administrator@RHD.ORG,password=(pwd),uid=1000,gid=1000,auto,rw,user,guest
0 0
//10.10.1.20/user/CompMDB /mnt/CompMDB cifs
file_mode=0775,dir_mode=0775,user=art@RHD.ORG,password=(pwd),uid=1000,gid=1000,auto,rw,user,guest
0 0
//vmi/public /mnt/python-public cifs
file_mode=0775,dir_mode=0775,user=art@RHD.ORG,password=(pwd),uid=1000,gid=1000,auto,rw,user,guest
0 0
//vmi/utilities /mnt/python-utilities cifs
file_mode=0775,dir_mode=0775,user=art@RHD.ORG,password=(pwd),uid=1000,gid=1000,auto,rw,user,guest
0 0

I have the identical lines in the fstab on this machine and everything works
fine. I should say that everything worked fine on the affected machine until
a reboot after kernel updates yesterday. Could that be it?

affected machine: 2.6.27-7
this machine: 2.6.24-18
