From this, it appears it's not being detected at all, since you've tried two different cables, I have to suspect the printer itself having a USB problem. If you're lucky, inserting and reinserting the USB connector repeatedly for a while will do sufficient cleaning of a dirty set of contacts. You can also try something like tuner cleaner sprayed into the connectors and repeated reinsertion and removal. If that doesn't work, you're into repair territory, which can be simple to complicated and expensive.

I assume you've checked the normal sources for info on translating what the display you get means from HP and on the web, and that you get a normal display rather some indication of a problem.
