I'm familiar with Pi-Hole, and it does DNS-passthrough. I personally wouldn't use it for my router, since I have gigabit, but for a slower connection on a decent miniPC, it should be fast enough.

I only ran Pi-Hole for a week or two, and then replaced it with the same idea, but done as a module on my pfSense instance. Was a little easier to setup (since my pfSense is already doing DNS resolution and forwarding), and fewer moving parts to maintain.
