Re: [PLUG] Freemesh networking

Very interesting.
I'm surviving on my Verizon FiOSrouter for now but a mesh network would be very nice.
When wireless networking started it was lousy (to be generous) so I have always favored hard-line connections (not-so-subtle Matrix reference.)
Now I just set them up and for the most part forget about them for years at a time... so I guess I'm finally convinced.
I see it's dual band 2.4GHz/5GHz which is good since my old Amazon Fire TV box is 2.4 only. So is the SIM-less Galaxy S4 I use to control it.
Nicest TV remote I've ever owned. I love that phone.

Once the world stops spinning around wildly, and presuming I survive, I think I'll give it a try.

Thank you
Eric Lucas

Got a few replies about mesh/ubiquity but not specially freemesh. I have run into a few folks that have run openwrt and meshed those with good success. Might just pull the trigger and go from there.

Did you ever get any response to this?  I've been looking at it since
you asked the question, but have found no one with any experience with
it...  I keep wanting to try it, but keep hesitating...
