Fine, but that article sounded like it was trying to generate a
controversy where none exists.

It's possible, but the big difference was switching from VirtualBox to
VMware. I'd heard about a week earlier that it worked on VMware. When
I got a chance I created a Win10 VM there with the same settings and
worked fine there.
