First off, thanks so much to Jesus for hosting! It worked out well. And
thank you to everyone who made it, it was great to see everyone, I had a
nice time.
Secondly, here's a link to the photo from last night:

And finally, some links related to the short talk I gave on text-based
communication in Linux:
screen: http://www.gnu.org/software/screen/screen.html
What I ran the programs inside to give me the ability to detatch and log
out of the system while leaving the program running.
irssi: http://www.irssi.org
The IRC (Internet Relay Chat) client I use to connect to several IRC servers.
bitlbee: http://www.bitlbee.org
The IM software used to connect to AIM, MSN, Yahoo!, ICQ, Jabber and
Google Talk.
mutt: http://www.mutt.org/
The text-based email client I use.
SquirrelMail: http://www.squirrelmail.org/
The web-based email software I use.
mail.pl: http://www.irssi.org/scripts/html/mail.pl.html
The irssi script that queries the mailbox and displays the number of new
emails in the irssi window.
rss2email: http://www.aaronsw.com/2002/rss2email/
A python script that queries RSS feeds and emails me the new
articles/entries. I have a crontab set up to run this twice a day.
And these are a couple little how-tos that I've written over the years
that are related to the talk:

and screen, written to be friendly to people new to *nix)
http://www.princessleia.com/irssi.php (basics to getting irssi running)
