Visited SoDoI Coffee Tasting House earlier this week (again, info at [1] and [2]), and the barista quite specifically mentioned then that they "should" be open this Sunday, pending planned/unplanned staffing shortages for that day. Therefore, am myself planning to be at SoDoI in-person _before_ the 11:00am meetup start time. If SoDoI is closed as it was for last month's 2026-06-28 meetup, then would proceed directly to the Berkeley Public Library's THP South branch's[3] Community room, just as for the last meetup of 2026-07-12 :-)
As a reminder, THP South branch [3] is definitely open on Sundays and there are ample table space, accessible WiFi, and electric outlets for laptops and other smaller computing devices. While the Berkeley Public Library's Rules of Use Policy specifically frowns on "meals" consumed inside the library (see 'A Shared Space' section of [4]), apparently "covered drinks and small snacks are okay" to bring inside. This way, those of us who wish to can avail ourselves of purchasing beverages such as Thai tea/coffee and/or small, non-messy snacks (am thinking of delicious Spring rolls) at the Berkeley Wat Mongkolratanaram Thai Temple’s Sunday brunch (see [5][6]) and then bring these inside for the meetup :-)
The weather is forecasted to be decent for this Sunday [7], and there is usually ample space at the Wat Mongkolratanaram Thai Temple outdoor seating areas for those who wish to have their fuller brunch meals just outside of the THP South library branch.
Am considering for the in-person physical meetup, playing around with the low-barrier, next-generation system container, application container, and virtual machine manager, Incus [8].
Hopefully, will see some of you at Sunday's meetup!
Cheers!
-Aaron
