This was interesting. One of the features of smartlist is that it's supposed
to handle subscribe/unsubscribe messages correctly even when it is sent to
the wrong address. I am still puzzled as to how your message got through
to the list.

No, not really. This is a discussion list. Some conversations may go on in
public even if only 2 or 3 people are participating.

We used to have a separate plug-announce list, but I thought that we decided
not to have it anymore. It's not a problem to reinstate it if there is
interest.
