Re: [Plug] Question about tar files
|
Ya know what, I'm actually gonna reply to that...
When I first got into UNIX, I couldn't figure out how to untar things either...
The standard is tar -xvf <finename> at least that's what i use for most
things...
*BUT* be sure you read the man page for tar
man tar
Peace,
Vale

Subject: [Plug] Question about tar files
Hey all
After I d/l the tar files what do I do with them? I cant excute any programs
from inside the files.... when I try to run it out of a Xterm it tells me
that the command is invalid. If someone knows where a man or a FAQ page is,
and can point me to it. :) Thanks!
Anthony
