  Subject:      ISC-Information Security Specialist

  ISC-Data Administration is accepting applications for an Information
  Security Specialist.  This is a new position.  Duties and qualifications
  are described below.  If interested, please respond to Dave Millar

         Duties:
          Provide technical expertise in protecting network and
          computing assets. Test, evaluate and run security evaluation
          tools. Develop and implement new security tools as
          needed. Monitor security attack trends, study attack
          software, devise workarounds and preventative methods.
          Assist with security investigations. Apply security patches.
          Maintain documentation and web pages.
          Monitor/disseminate security advisories. Maintain incident
          tracking database.

        Qualifications:
          BA/BS in Computer Science or related field or equivalent
          experience; two years related experience using UNIX
          systems & Windows; UNIX and/or NT administration
          experience strongly preferred; experience scripting in PERL
          preferred; experience developing/maintaining web pages;
          thorough knowledge of TCP/IP; excellent customer service
          skills essential; ability to work with faculty, students, & 
          staff; ability to work independently & as part of a team,
          excellent verbal & written communication skills. Requires
          carrying a pager for on-call support periodically. Requires a
          high degree of personal integrity and the ability to handle
          sensitive information confidentially.
