I've had issues with XMMS suddenly getting grumpy
under Mandrake 8.0 also. Try running it from the
command line to see if there are any errors thrown
before it starts up. I got a few when trying to run it
after it started balking. From there you might be able
to repair whatever is busted. Hope that helps. - JP
