Is there a way to import your private key from a windows PC onto a
Linux PC? Clearly I can export it to a floppy or a network share
(not very bright, but it's a secure home network). Would that key be
directly importable to the Linux PC?

Copying the files is all you need to do. Make sure the permissions
are set the same on the old and new files, and on ~/.gnupg/
Something like
cp -va /old/home/dir/.gnupg ~
should be all you need to do.
