[PLUG] Cut 'n paste tabs versus spaces in X

Hrm, first try didn't go through.  Some mail server couldn't resolve
epiary.org.  Hopefully this one will go through.

Ok, I just recently upgraded to RH 7.2.  I was previously using 7.1 with
Gnome and Enlightenment.  Cutting and pasting tabs worked fabulously from
gnome-terminal.

Gnome + Enlightenment in 7.2 broke all my settings and started multiplying
open windows an epplets.  I got disgusted and decided to move over to KDE.

So now I'm under KDE and starting to adjust.  I'd love to be able to get
the virtual pager in a nice 3x3 cube instead of the 4.5x2 mess that it's
in, but I can deal with that.

But the thing that is killing me now is cut and paste between two
konsoles.  Tabs turn into spaces again :(

I even loaded up two gnome-terminals and although they seem to know the
difference between a space and a tab while selecting, they still only
paste spaces.

Any ideas how to get this very cool functionality back?
