I've had a problem trying to convince a serial trackball to work on a ps-2
port. The software seemed to believe that it was doable and I needed
serial one for another application.
Was it a problem with the X-Y movement or the buttons? Were there more
than two buttons? Was there a ps/2 driver specifically for that device?
Was it under Linux or Windows?
