I've not heard of Knoppix-STD but I tried booting with vanilla Knoppix.
The box has a Compaq/HP SCSI RAID array that requires a CCISS driver.
Knoppix does not have it by default.

(Although STD in medical parlance refers to sexually transmitted disease
