[PLUG] VMWare Player on Ubuntu Dapper, vmnet module error

Hi all.

Trying to install VMWare Player from Ubuntu repos, using the
instructions found here:
	https://help.ubuntu.com/community/VMware/Player

Getting an error during installation. The tail end of the messages reads:


Starting VMware services:
   Virtual machine monitor                                            failed
   Virtual ethernet                                                   failed
Module vmnet is not loaded.  Please verify that it is loaded before
running this script.

invoke-rc.d: initscript vmware-player, action "start" failed.
dpkg: error processing vmware-player (--configure):
 subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1


I am running 6.06 LTS and KDE 3.5. The Ubuntu forums are down right now,
so I'm posting on PLUG. Any help appreciated.
