Hi All,
I just moved to 45th & Spruce and I'm having difficulty finding an
ISP. There is no cable service of any kind in my little development,
so comcast is not even an option.
I had CavTel in center city (which was ok), but they would not
transfer my DSL to the new place. I also called DCA.net and they
said they don't offer DSL service to my house.
I've decided to try out Verizon Business DSL. It costs $20 for
dialtone and $40 for 3.0/768 DSL. With taxes and fees I expect it to
be less than $70/mo. It does NOT include free local outbound phone
calls, but all incoming calls are free. I get 1 dynamic IP and 24/7
"biz" tech support.
I'm a little disappointed that it does not include a static IP, but
that would be $40/mo more from Verizon and something from Speakeasy.
The line is not installed yet, so I don't know if it will really work,
but I have high hopes. My guess is that my wires won't support the
full 3.0, but I hope the 768 uplink works.
I'll send an update once verizon tries to hook me up.
Austin
