I bought a new car with a stick recently. I was really irritated to
see what a poor selection most dealers had. Especially the American
brands and especially the midsize cars and smaller SUVs.
Using the dealer inventory tools on the web, I did a pretty wide
search of dealers in the region. Few had more than 1 or 2 sticks, and
many had none. The sticks that were in inventory were almost always
either the smallest car available or had some ridiculous "performance"
package.
Why is it you can get a toyota camry, honda accord, or a nissan maxima
with a stick, but not a ford taurus or a dodge charger? It's
pathetic. Everything is aimed at the lowest common denominator.
