[PLUG] ifconfig no gui

havent been doing linux stuff for a while

appear to have media corruption 
in my suse 10 install. (yast not intact)

ifconfig for address, mask
where do i config default gateway,
and my verizon dns servers?

once i connect, can i (re)install right from
the novell site.

i know some distros do a core install,
and then go out to the internet to install packages.
