[PLUG] Lightweight open source RADIUS server?

A friend of mine is running dd-wrt on a linksys wireless router and he wants to
be able to allow users to use it with just a user name and password. This would
be running on the linksys/dd-wrt system - he does not want to use a separate
server. All the solutions he can find involve a separate RADIUS server (even
chilikat).
Does anybody know of a simple authentication system that could run entirely
within the dd-wrt system (kind of: "lightweight open source RADIUS server")?
Alternatively, perhaps there is such a function or package for open-wrt? (I
could persuade him to switch.) I have not found such a package which is why I'm
inquiring here.
