[PLUG] Sanity check: coding XNA apps (XBox games) on a Linux box?
|
Hi all,
I once believed that, now that Mono exists, Mono.XNA was the answer to
the above riddle. My early experiments, though, suggest I'd spend 2-3
months in order to get it to actually work with the tutorials that start
at http://www.riemers.net/eng/Tutorials/XNA/Csharp/series1.php.
I spent most of a month blundering through the OpenGL calls exposed by
the libraries on which Mono.XNA depends, but didn't really learn OpenGL
in the process, and would need a working DirectX-to-OpenGL translator
for the Effect class of the XNA API.
Theoretically, I'm in no hurry, but would it make any sense to fool with
sort-of-finishing Mono.XNA?
