Most banks allow you to cut checks directly from their online banking
websites; they mail it and you never have to fill it out, address the
envelope, or pay for the stamp.
The time you spend waiting on the printer and addressing an envelope
could instead be spent waiting for their web page to load ;-)
I know it's not exactly the same, but maybe this could work for you?
