Last night at central I asked about my computer's seeming memory loss.

Then, I type free:
total used free shared buffers cached
Mem: 3083472 2886920 196552 0 12268 385836
- -/+ buffers/cache: 2488816 594656
Swap: 3906556 1412112 2494444
This weekend I'll test the memory chips one by one to see if there's a hidden dud in the bunch.
Thanks
Eric
PS: love that useful information:
product: PartNum0
vendor: Manufacturer0
