Re: [PLUG] [plug-announce] Tue Mar 10 - PLUG North

I'm volunteering to hijack this "General Discussion" with a concept of a talk.

As I won't have a formal presentation, I will be leading a guided discussion on Open Claw and what I have been exposed to. I come with:

Hosting experience in 3 different ways.

Root on system
Docker
Surprise not docker solution and why it's better.
Sub Agents!

Costs

Anthropic and OpenAI observed costs.
Self hosting experience.

Configuration

How
Process
What is the "Soul"?
Plugins and extensions.
Which frontier models tested.
Self hosting options

Networking
Cross site VPN options tested and options.

Backups

How to back up and save your bots!

Fun related topics

Security!
Provenance: What is it, why you care, and how this probably impacts your life now as a developer, admin, or infrastructure person . May hold non-techies accountable for the words out of their mouths.
Context windows, what it is and strategies observed (this group might solve this in general discussion).
Live Demo? May take the group to make this unplanned demo.

If this topic interests you and you cannot make it, don't worry. This is more like getting some friendly people in a room to help me make an actual formal talk for Open Claw and will likely give it formally soon at LUG near you (Yes Andrew, CIALUG will likely get this one)!

We don't have a speaker this month, so the meeting will be a general discussion of Linux and open source topics. Bring your questions!
