Samsung Galaxy 25 has the same processor as the 26.

That aside- I moved/restored my calendar [Super Backup] and all was 
well. Within 24 hours the restore had disappeared although the 
locally-inputted dates stayed. This is repeatable. Can't copy from old 
phone as it's largely dead.

I do not sync the calendar and the phone is not associated with a Google 
email. I figure there's a Google service causing this but I've toggled 
the obvious ones without success. Also toggled network access.

Can you please point me somewhere?

FWIW: if you're a complete loon and control freak you might want to 
install a firewall. I like NetGuard. Can dl or append a HOSTS file. 
Suggestion: your word puzzle has no need to contact FB.
