Re: [PLUG] [o/t] Pi-hole

The PiHole works great for me.  All the family cell phones, desktops, and laptops benefit from it when they are inside using WiFi.  I've (almost) never had a problem with it.

Of course, you have to change the DNS settings in the router to use the Pi instead of the normal DNS they bake in.

The cable box that feeds my dumb tv failed and they gave me a streaming box. Is it true they (Xfinity) are no longer using direct wire connections for cable box input?

Pi-hole looks good. Is it worth buying a PI to run it? Or put it on a very old power-sucking pc? Has anybody had any problems using Pi-hole with their setup/does it interfere with normal tv operations?

I also use a HOSTS file.

There are different 'flavors' allowing you to block different things.
