OK in that case you are most likely using a smbpasswd file, or at least
that
is what you should be using. You have to create it and add your users to
it.

If you have a linux user named jdecaro then you can add a samba user by
running
smbpasswd -a jdecaro. If you did not do that step then samba will not
work.

If it still does not work, show your smb.conf and tell us again exactly
what the
problem is. I think I remember but...
