Successfully configured amd64 Debian bookworm with just the MATE and Lxqt desktop environments on the TC M73.
But no, didn't take up (your own?) suggestions to also consider installing Debian's renditions of KDE Plasma, GNOME or Cinnamon DE's, sorry :-\ Might possibly consider though installing other lighterweight non-tiling window managers on it at some future time, e.g., fluxbox or openbox.
Cleaned up the unnecessary "baggage" during the post-install steps and optimizations, and the desktop works plenty fast, so thanks for the other suggestions! :-)
