First, how comfortable is the group with having job reqs like this
forwarded to the list?  I don't want to change the feel of the
discussions, but I do know that some of you may be in need of or know
people in need of a position.  I get these kinds of things on a fairly
regular basis.  If the list isn't comfortable with that kind of thing,
does anyone know of another channel where these kinds of things would
be good to pass on?

The Senior Application Developer position will be the technical lead,
leading Java web and oracle development  projects in support of the
ecommerce environment.

MAJOR JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Work with the business, architecture team, and other lead developers
to collaborate on software requirements and provide solutions
• Member of application architecture team responsible for building
standardized frameworks, services, and code in support of SOA
architecture
• Application architecture, design, develop, and unit test Java Web applications
• Support legacy oracle stored procedures and database code for
breakfix/small enhancements
• Application design and architecture to ensure scalable, flexible
applications in support of the business
• Research and recommend technology solutions in support of their
application architecture roadmap

QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training, Experience and Certifications)
• Bachelors degree in computer science or related field, or equivalent
experience and/or certificates.
• Minimum 7-10 years development experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Those necessary to perform the job competently)
• Experience as lead developer for web application team.  Experience
working on ecommerce applications
• Expertise in Java web development and extensive experience in one or
more of the following languages: python, ruby, c, or lisp
•  Experience in using one or more version control systems for
branching and merging
• Experience in web UI development – JavaScript, JSP and CSS required
• Experience developing applications in a Linux operating system
•  Active participation in open source projects is a plus
• Experience working in an agile development process
•  Object-Oriented Analysis and Design, including Core J2EE Design
Patterns and UML
•  Experience working with JBoss and Apache
•  Spring and Hibernate frameworks considered a plus
•  Thorough knowledge and understanding of relational database
structure and design using Oracle 10G. 11G.  Experience developing and
supporting Oracle stored procedures
•  Experience with performance tuning (front-end/back-end)
•  Ability to work in a team environment with a positive attitude
• Experience working with SAP Netweaver, SAP Portal
• Experience supporting a packaged Ecommerce solution a plus but not required
•  Bachelors degree in computer science or related field, or
equivalent experience and/or certificates.
