I disable all the options except the basics, hyperlinks, images, and a few other common things. I don't let them shoot themselves in the foot, well at least I try not to.

I agree. More specifically, they generally do not have great cross browser capabilities, and the HTML they generate is usually pretty awful. I really don't like to use them because it allows the user to destroy the look/feel of your site by using strange colors/fonts/ alignments etc... I know the users can do the same thing with textile but they definitely seem to do it a lot less with textile.
