Slicehost is great if you're willing to do a little sys-admining. I highly recommend it.

But Slicehost is basically a VPS, so you need to be willing to get your hands dirty with installing and setting up your server software. It's really easy though, I have one slice setup for RoR and I used Capistrano and Deprec to install all my software (Apache, ruby, rails, MySQL, and Mongrel) and deploy apps. They have great tutorials and a very helpful community.
