Re: [PhillyOnRails] OFFTOPIC: macfuse and sshfs
|
I'm using macfuse/ssh and it works really well. The only bummer I found was if I opened a song via VLC, it loads the whole song, then plays it rather than trying to stream it, which is really what I was hoping to do. I'm sure there is a way to do it, but I didn't dig into it tha tmuch .It is nice to have access to your files anywhere.

great. thanks! i'll be happy to send you some notes with this and leopard once i play with it.
also, vmware fusion is truly amazing. you can run windows apps directly on the mac desktop and performance is out of this world. happy to share experiences with anyone if they'd like to contact me directly.

I've used it in the past, and wrote a beginners article for some fellow co-workers here...

Its more notes on getting started. I've heard Leopard fixes the un-mounting issues I used to experience when putting my laptop to sleep. Either way, easy to install and seems to work great for people that need that sort of thing.

i thought this might be an ok forum for this question since i know a lot of you have macs and [maybe] this might be a handy trick in the future.
