Re: Thanksgiving Long Weekend

On the other hand, how many are going there in august (for Yapc::Europe)?

And I move to eliminate the Caribbean as well because Perl Whirl '02 will be there less than 2 months later.

Why is Wyoming on the list? Is there something special to do there? Also flights to Wyoming are more expensive from PHL than to most of the European destinations and involve a puddle jumper from Denver.

I like the idea of going to Las Vegas. It has better weather than most of the other choices, it is not the site of a Perl event in August or January, it does not involve currency conversions, and as an added bonus the airfare is cheapest of the cities listed. Too bad we can't go one week earlier because COMDEX is the week before Thanksgiving.

A check of www.vegasfreedom.com for a list of who is performing in town that weekend yields...

BB King
Everly Brothers
Andrew "Dice" Clay
Plus dozens of shows that are always there.
