First of all, I'd like to thank Jeff Horwitz once again for offering to let Adam stay at his place while he's in the Philadelphia area. Secondly, I'd like to organize a phl.pm dinner with Adam. It will have to be on short notice, because he's only here for a few days. Probably we can only do it Monday or Tuesday nights. When I checked with Adam a few days ago, he said he could probably make either day. Are either of those days better or worse for people? We'll also need a place to take him. He's indicated that he's not too interested in cheesesteaks, so that rules out Tony Luke's. Should we just take him to Nodding Head? Finally, Philly Lambda (the local functional programming group (yes, Philadelphia now has a functional programming group)) is having a talk Wednesday night that sounds interesting. The topic is fuzzy string matching, and it will be at 7 pm at the Cira Center [1]. Look through the mailing list archive [2] for more information, including how to RSVP (security needs to know who'll be coming). Kyle, the speaker, has even posted a link to a draft of his slides. This seems to have some overlap with my dissertation work, so I'll definitely be there. Walt 1. Adam, if you're thinking of attending, this office building is right next door to Philadelphia's main train station, where the Amtrak trains depart for New York City. 2. http://groups.google.com/group/philly-lambda Attachment:
