Post Kernel upgrade problems

Hello All,
	I'm sure someone can help. I recently patched my kernel from 2.0.34 to
2.0.35. The patch went through flawlessly except now my lpd isn't working.
When I tryed to debug the problem by checking the syslog I noticed that
isn't running either?  The log is full of the same error messages;

Oct 5 02:05:32 stan syslogd: exiting on signal 15
Oct 5 02:06:26 stan kernel: Symbol table has incorrect version number.
Oct 5 07:21:30 stan syslogd: exiting on signal 15
Oct 5 09:19:30 stan kernel: Symbol table has incorrect version number.
Oct 7 20:34:32 stan syslogd: exiting on signal 15
Oct 9 17:28:34 stan kernel: Symbol table has incorrect version number.
Oct 10 02:10:03 stan syslogd: exiting on signal 15
Oct 13 04:04:17 stan kernel: Symbol table has incorrect version number.
Oct 13 04:56:20 stan syslogd: exiting on signal 15

I'm sure there must have been a step I missed when upgrading the kernel.
Could someone please fill me in as to what it may be.

Thanks,
Ron
