Ethernet woes

Hi!

I reinstalled Slackware 3.6 and somehow I can't seem to get Linux to
talk to our LAN anymore. If I start PPP, a traceroute to one of the
machines on the LAN looks like that:

>-------SNIP-------<
traceroute to 192.168.0.2 (192.168.0.2), 30 hops max, 40 byte packets

Looks like the Linux box is looking for a local machine on the Internet
(eclipse.net is our ISP).

A 'route' results in the following:
>-------SNIP-------<
Kernel IP routing table
Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use
Iface
bb-cs2.deimos.e * 255.255.255.255 UH 0 0 0

And ifconfig produces the following output:
>-------SNIP-------<
lo Link encap:Local Loopback

Seems like I have some serious routing issues (again).Could anybody
please tell me what's wrong here?

TIA,
