Re: NT4.0 way faster than Linux 2.2.2 ???


It might have just been a bad day for that Windows box.. but I ran that
system out of the
box and opened notepad.exe, took 5 seconds... Notepad.exe doesn't even
take that long to
load with WINE, let alone an ELF binary with the same features.  Is that
a benchmark
enough for you  ? ;)  I can run VMWare with NT4, my XawTV, Netscape,
Quake2, and Epic at
the same time in Linux.  Id like to see this same system try that in
NT.. you can't.
NT would require DirectX for the Quake2 and XawTV.. and forget about
trying to multitask
(let alone using a Creative Labs 3d Blaster Voodoo2 in a windowing
environment)
