I know someone (not me) who ran a program as root without his home variable set right, and the program saved his preferences to /. the files were named something like: "default*". well, this user did a "rm /de* -rf", forgetting about /dev/... did a number on that system. - Eric Windisch ( Not me) Michael wrote: > >> My reply to ray beckler's mail was: > > > BE CAREFUL!
