Everytime I think I do I find out I'm wrong. So that whole thread is completely lost on me. I dont get it, I'll never get it, and I'm probably better off for realizing it. On to politics. I dont get involved in 'world issues'. I dont care whats going on on the other side of the world somewhere where I cant do anything anyways. I prefer the hands on approach. I'm more into whats going on near me and what I can personally do. I'm probably way too introverted, but it works for me. Still, politics doesnt seem right to me. Ok, this is probably going to make me look really bad but I think a better analogy to this whole OS thing is probably the ever present quest for a high. To me windows reminds me of a narcotic. It feels good and in the short term you have fun. Ultimately its expensive in more ways than just money. Unix on the otherhand reminds me of an endorphin high. You have to work for it, there's a little pain involved, and you wind up better off for it in the long run. Windows is a 'quick fix' or an 'easy out'. Unix is more of a 'commitment' or a 'workout'. Disclaimer: I am a pinhead. Just felt like sharing with the group... -- J. When I grow up, I wanna be more like me. I had a clue. I didn't like it. I took it back and exchanged it for an attitude. _______________________________________________ Plug maillist - Plug@lists.nothinbut.net http://lists.nothinbut.net/mail/listinfo/plug
