RE: [Plug] SDSL from @voicenet.com

It seems like everything I've heard about DSL services tends to point to them screwing people over who aren't already in a well established DSL service area and even then sometimes bad things happen.

Voicenet told us 30-40 days. And, while they have taken our payment info,
they have not charged us with anything. And, presently, their installation
fee has been waived (a good deal...for sure).

Did they give you an estimated time frame as to when they would install? Is
the service already in your area or did they say something like "we hope to
have it operational in xxx months". When I called regarding getting
residental SDSL for the owner, they told me that the service to his area was
planned but *probably* wouldn't be available for at least 6 to 8 months.
Yet, they told me specifically that SDSL is available where I work and it
would take 30-40 days. I'm expecting to have DSL by mid-September.

Just wondering....
