I agree. Because unix file systems beat up on floppies, I use DOS FAT as my
Linux choice for floppies that get carried around in my briefcase. (mcopy
does the trick to get files to and from them.)

ext2 is kind of piggish for floppies (wastes space for too many inodes
unless
you tune it during the file system creation).  I've heard that fat or
minix are better choices for floppies...
