Here's how we do it...
     fdformat /dev/fd0H1440        This does the initial formatting
     badblocks/dev/fd0 -s -v 1440 1      This rechecks for bad blocks file
systems from unices beat up floppies much more than DOS does -- "generic"
floppies that work fine in DOS many times don't pass this test in Linux)
     mkfs.ext2 /dev/fd0       This actually creates the file system on the
floppy
