I have no vested intrest either way, but dismissing any > question with out considering multiple approaches just isnt in my > nature. My only interest was in answering the question that was asked. As far as I know the sudo program does not change the permissions on the account that uses it. The question of which method of executing programs which require root permission is better may not be cut and dried. But to say that the answer to the question THAT WAS ASKED is not cut and dried seems wrong to me. As far as I know there is only one way to make a root account with a name other than root. It's all semantics of course but I have to assume that the guy asked what he wanted to know. _______________________________________________ Plug maillist - Plug@lists.nothinbut.net http://lists.nothinbut.net/mail/listinfo/plug
